A Plano homeowner contacted us when their air conditioning system stopped cooling effectively. Our technician inspected the downstairs unit and discovered two issues causing the problem.
First, the system was low on refrigerant. Second, we found a leak at the service valve where the service cap had been left off by a previous company. This missing cap allowed refrigerant to slowly escape from the system.
We replaced the missing service caps to seal the leak properly. Then we added 2 pounds of R-410A refrigerant to bring the system back to proper levels.
After completing the repairs, we tested the system to ensure it was cooling and functioning correctly. The air conditioner is now working as it should, keeping this Plano home comfortable again.
