A homeowner in Allen, TX contacted us when both of their air conditioning units stopped cooling properly. Our technician performed a thorough diagnosis to identify the root causes of the cooling issues.
During the inspection, we discovered two separate problems affecting the units. The upstairs unit had a failed dual run capacitor, which prevents the system from operating correctly. The downstairs unit had developed a refrigerant leak at the service valve.
We replaced the faulty dual run capacitor on the upstairs unit to restore proper operation. For the downstairs unit, our team repaired the leaking service valve and installed new locking caps for added security. We then recharged the system by adding 2 pounds of R-410A refrigerant to bring levels back to manufacturer specifications.
After completing both repairs, we tested both air conditioning units to ensure they were cooling effectively. Both systems are now functioning properly and providing the comfort this Allen family needs during the hot Texas summer.
